ART BY
Molly Tong

Hello/ Helo!
I'm Molly, a North Wales based Fine Artist who enjoys painting, designing, hillwalking and rowing. Having moved to Wales in 2012 I have grown up with an appreciation for the outdoors and have developed a passion for sustainability, (Although, if you'd have asked my Mum ten years ago she'd argue that getting me out on a walk was quite a challenge!)

I'm currently studying for a degree in Art and Design at the University of Leeds, with the hope of developing my creative career post-graduation. Although I've always experimented with drawing, painting and general crafts, my work in recent years has focussed on the natural environment and physical structures, such as my mycelium Year 3 project and digital plant printing from Year 2. Watercolour is my preferred medium to work with, with this being used for the majority of the commissions I do. However, utilising the workshops at uni has brought an interest of laser cutting and a more 3D/ mixed media approach. For my current project I am looking at the structures of lichen found on the moors around Capel Curig (North Wales), and I'm considering a mixed media, recycled material approach for this.

I'm due to graduate from Leeds in July 2025, and I'm excited to return to North Wales to seek inspiration and further develop my creative identity.
